Public record

Compiled from publications and official records as of 22.10.2026. Every statement links to its source; claims made by others are marked as such, with who makes them. Quotations in English are our translation.

Russia

  • Statement of 30.03.2026 against the agreement with Ukraine. A Възраждане press release, republished by Rousse.Info, quotes a statement by the MP and list leader. It calls the 10-year agreement between Bulgaria and Ukraine shameful and describes Ukraine as „led by Nazis against our Liberator Russia“ (our translation). No consequences were found. — Rousse.Info, 01.04.2026
  • Statement on the Black Sea attacks. In a text published by Rousse.Info he claims the war is waged by the Collective West through Ukraine against Russia, calls the Russian actions denazification and adds that they „are not subject to political or legal criticism and are indisputable“ (our translation). No consequences were found. — Rousse.Info, 13.10.2026
  • Parliamentary question on the position towards Russia. The MP asked Foreign Minister Nadezhda Neynski about Bulgaria's position on the Russia–Ukraine conflict and its role in marking 9 May. His statement, published on the party's website, is titled „Decisions against Russia are decisions against Bulgarian memory“ (our translation). No result of the question was found. — vazrazhdane.bg, 01.04.2026
  • Tabloid claim of acting as a go-between for Tsvetan Vasilev. Kliuki.bg, an unsigned tabloid hostile to Zlatanov and Възраждане, alleges that he acts as a go-between for the fugitive former КТБ owner Tsvetan Vasilev and the Bulgarian prosecution. The outlet calls Vasilev pro-Kremlin. No evidence is given and no other outlet confirms the claim. Goreshto.net repeats it. Nothing is known to have followed. — Kliuki.bg, 20.08.2026

Corruption and scandals

  • Accusation against the National Bureau for Control of Special Intelligence Means. He told parliament that the bureau had unlawfully wiretapped, including people from his party, reports 24plovdiv.bg. Former interior minister Aleksandar Rashev (ИТН) disputed this. The National Assembly elected a new leadership, with Plamen Kolev receiving a new mandate. No proof was found. — 24plovdiv.bg, 01.05.2025
  • Sanctioned over physical clashes in parliament. Русе Медиа reports that he was among the Възраждане MPs sanctioned by the parliament chair over the clashes linked to the row with Yavor Bozhankov about soft wrists. The chair said the sanctions could be contested, because some MPs may have been defending themselves. The size of the sanction and any appeal are not confirmed. — Русе Медиа

Other

  • Member of a temporary committee on influence in the judiciary. The committee of the 50th National Assembly also examined the network of Petyo Petrov-Evroto. In a post of his cited by iskra.bg, he called for a quick session at which Tsvetan Vasilev (КТБ) would be heard by Skype. Dunavmost, relaying his own account, writes that the summary report never reached a plenary vote before the end of the mandate. — iskra.bg, 01.08.2024
  • Attendance at Khamenei's funeral in Tehran. Standart writes that in July 2026 he attended the ceremonies together with Angel Georgiev, whom the paper calls a sitting MP and him a former MP. Dunavmost reports that he defended the visit and urged Bulgaria to condemn the killing and restore economic ties with Iran. Critics asked who paid for the trip; the question comes from the Kafeneto blog and remains unanswered. The media also argued over a Koran quotation about infidels and hypocrites (Eurocom, 24chasa). No legal or parliamentary consequences were found. — Standart, 05.07.2026, Dunavmost, 10.07.2026
