Connection with the criminal communist organization:

- Plevneliev grew up in a family of communists; his father - Asen Spasov Plevneliev a teacher of Bulgarian language and literature was a managerial cadre in the Committee of communist party - Blagoevgrad. He was the head of the committee on ideological and organizational work of primary-party organizations and the ideological and political work in schools. The task of these senior and very powerful bureaucrats was to decide the fate of those Bulgarians who were their subordinates and coworkers. The father of Rosen Plevneliev made decisions whether someone is to be appointed or not in the field he was responsible for; His mother - Jana Plevnelieva -  a math teacher was also nomenclature of the communist party and a chairman of the SBT (Syndicate of Bulgarian teachers).

- Rosen Plevneliev walked in the footsteps of his parents. He was not only a member of the Communist Party, but a party activist. Documents from the archives of university party organization at Lenin TU (Technical University) showed that the president Rosen Plevneliev was elected to be part of the University Committee, and he was a delegate of the regional party conference of the Communist Party in the region "Hristo Botev". This same committee was mainly engaged in screening candidates for academic careers according to their "class origin".
